Legal
Terms of Service.
Last updated: August 2026
The German version of this document is the operative one. This English translation is provided for convenience; where the two differ, the German text governs.
1. Scope and provider
These terms govern the use of Paperstand: a personal address for receiving newsletters, a reading application on iOS, Android and the web, and tools for managing subscriptions. The provider is Florian Preusner, Freester Weg 10c, 13503 Berlin, Germany, trading as a sole proprietorship.
2. Conclusion of contract and your account
The contract of use comes into effect when you create an account and we activate it. Keep your credentials to yourself; you're responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 16 years old. One person, one account — aliases are the right way to have several addresses.
3. Free plan & Premium
The free plan is free of charge and ad-free; newsletter issues are removed 3 months after delivery, saved issues excepted. Premium costs €2.99 per month or €29.95 per year, incl. VAT. Term, automatic renewal and cancellation of the subscription follow the terms of the store you bought it through — see section 4.
4. Handled by Apple and Google
Premium is sold exclusively through Apple In-App Purchase and Google Play Billing. The purchase contract for the subscription is therefore concluded with Apple and Google, not with us. Payment, invoicing, renewal, cancellation and refunds follow the terms of the respective store and are managed there. Your statutory rights against that store are unaffected; we can neither collect nor refund payments.
5. Acceptable use
Your @paperstand.email address is for receiving newsletters and similar publications. Don't use the service to send unsolicited mail, infringe others' rights, or attempt to disrupt the infrastructure. API and MCP access (Premium) is subject to fair use; we will give notice before applying any limit to your account.
6. Third-party content
Newsletters on your stand belong to their authors and publishers. Paperstand displays them to you personally and claims no rights to them. You may not redistribute paid content received through the service.
7. Availability & liability
We work to keep Paperstand available and your archive safe, but cannot promise uninterrupted operation. We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, and for damage arising from injury to life, body or health. For slight negligence we are liable only for breaches of essential contractual duties, and then capped at the typically foreseeable damage. Liability under the German Product Liability Act is unaffected.
8. Term and termination
You can delete your account at any time in the app settings. We may terminate accounts that violate these terms, with reasonable prior notice where that is possible and reasonable. A subscription taken out through Apple or Google is cancelled in the respective store.
9. Final provisions
German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. For consumers, mandatory provisions of their country of habitual residence remain unaffected. Place of jurisdiction is determined by statute. We are neither obliged nor willing to take part in dispute resolution before a consumer arbitration board.
